Well, I tell ya, this whole thing with Adriane Moss really shook me up. Y’see, down in Lakeway, Texas, just outside Austin, a 34-year-old woman got herself into some real trouble. The poor little boy, must’ve been scared outta his wits, called 911 all by himself. He told ‘em he was stuck in a hot truck, and his mama, well, she was just passed out drunk in the front seat. Can you believe that? A young child, alone in that kind of heat, with no way to get out, and his mama just passed out there without a care in the world.
The little boy said the windows weren’t even down, and it was over 100 degrees out! Now, I don’t know about you, but when it’s that hot, I can’t imagine how terrible it must’ve been for that poor kid. He begged his mama to open the windows, but she didn’t respond. It wasn’t until he called the police that anyone even knew he was in trouble. That’s when the police showed up, and they found Adriane Moss still passed out in the truck. What kind of mama does that to her own baby?
Now, this woman, Adriane, she’s been charged with child endangerment. And honestly, it’s no wonder. I mean, leaving a little one like that in a hot truck is just plain dangerous. I don’t care who you are, whether you’ve had a few too many drinks or not, a mama’s got to think about her child’s safety first. But instead, this lady put her own need to pass out drunk ahead of her boy’s life. That ain’t right.
The boy, thank goodness, was okay when the police arrived. But still, it must’ve been a scary thing for him, sitting in that truck, feeling helpless, waiting for someone to come and help him. And the worst part? His mama didn’t even wake up to help him when he needed her most. I can’t help but feel bad for the poor kid. No child should have to go through something like that.
Adriane Moss got arrested on charges of abandoning or endangering a child, and that’s just the start of it. I don’t know what kind of punishment she’s gonna face, but she sure needs to learn a lesson from all this. I don’t care how rough life gets, a mama’s gotta be there for her kids. If she can’t do that, then what’s the point? I hope she gets the help she needs, but I also hope she never forgets what she did to that little boy.
It just makes you think, doesn’t it? About how important it is to look out for those we love, especially the little ones who can’t look out for themselves. That little boy, he deserves better. And all I can hope is that he’ll grow up in a safe place, where people care about him, and never have to experience anything like this again.
