Well, I heard about them Aggie fans down at the College World Series, and let me tell ya, they sure know how to make a scene. You know, Aggie fans, they got this big ol’ reputation for bein’ rowdy and all. Folks say it’s part of their tradition, kinda like how us old-timers always show up at the church picnic with a pie, even if we ain’t got the best pie. It’s just how things are done.
So, what happened down in Omaha? A couple of Aggie fans got tossed outta the game. Yep, they were sittin’ there in the stands, yellin’ and carryin’ on, and it wasn’t just the usual “Go Aggies!” stuff. No, these folks decided to get personal with Florida’s coach, Kevin O’Sullivan. Now, this here coach, he’s got some history in his past, and I guess them fans thought it’d be a good idea to bring it up. Big mistake, it turns out. They were jabberin’ about some awful stuff from years ago—something about a double murder and a suicide, all tied up with the coach. Well, let me tell ya, that ain’t the kinda thing you wanna mess with, not when you’re tryin’ to enjoy a good ol’ baseball game.
The police, they weren’t havin’ it, so them Aggie fans got shown the door. That’s right, they didn’t even make it two full innings before security stepped in. I reckon that’s one of the shortest stays in a College World Series game, huh? Just goes to show, you can’t always say whatever you want, even if you’re a big fan of the Aggies.
Now, I don’t know much about what happened after that, but I heard tell that the coach, Jim Schlossnagle, wasn’t too pleased with his own fans either. He was talkin’ pretty stern, maybe even gave ’em a piece of his mind. He’s the one who leads them Aggies, so I imagine he don’t want his team’s name dragged through the mud over somethin’ like that. Ain’t no reason to get all personal and ugly like that in front of everyone. Fans, they’re supposed to be supportive, not startin’ fights.
But this ain’t the first time something like this has happened. Aggie fans, they sure got a way of stirrin’ up trouble at the ballpark. You’d think they’d learn by now, but maybe it’s just how they do things down there. Can’t say I’m surprised, though. Fans will always be fans, and some of ’em get a little carried away sometimes. Ain’t no excuse for bad behavior, but it does make for a good story, don’t it?
You know, back in the day, folks used to say if you didn’t get kicked out of a game at least once, you weren’t really a true fan. I reckon them Aggies are just keepin’ up with tradition. But still, it’s a shame, ‘cause the game should be about the players and the excitement of the sport. Instead, we got folks talkin’ trash and gettin’ ejected, and that’s just a mess.
So, there ya have it. Aggie fans, rowdy as always, but maybe they’ll think twice next time before gettin’ too personal with someone’s past. You gotta keep it clean and focus on the game if you ask me. Ain’t nobody got time for that kinda drama when there’s baseball to watch.
